Alessandro Macedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Caputera getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Hudson Batista hit a great ball. When Abelardo de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the marselle f.c fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo de Moraes couldn't finish the play. Edmundo Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the game, marselle f.c's Alessandro Macedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hermínio de Alcântara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 37 minutes into the match, Caputera's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo de Moraes came free, but Hermínio de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. marselle f.c's Abelardo de Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermínio de Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo de Moraes in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of Caputera booed when marselle f.c was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Linares was the one to do the kick off. Dieguinho Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Caputera's Edmundo Linares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luciano Mazza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luciano Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Linares, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Abelardo de Moraes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermínio de Alcântara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Caputera got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Brasil. Cacá Barral hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute of the match Lauro Rosa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hermínio de Alcântara skillfully saved the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Caputera's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Macedo came free, but Hermínio de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caputera's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
