Operário Ferroviário EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilson Carneiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Operário Ferroviário EC's zone, Ronaldinho Tande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cássio Neves came out of the goal and Ronaldinho Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nilson Carneiro got free with Cássio Neves in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 80 minutes, João Augusto Mesquita mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itatiayassu and the Operário Ferroviário EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Itatiayassu's João Augusto Mesquita got a free kick in the 80th minute. Luís Fábio da Silveira missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 81 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Jorge Neves right hand side. Cássio Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldinho Tande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute of the match, Ronaldinho Tande tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cássio Neves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cássio Neves made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Nilson Carneiro sent off a good shot on target. The Operário Ferroviário EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Itatiayassu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
