Magno Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Magno Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After recieving a nice pass, Cuipiranga's Hugo de Senna tried to score from far away in the 16th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Roger Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Sá having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Taurus F.C's zone, Abel Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Róbson Valladares came out of the goal and Abel Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Paulo Pernambucano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 31 played minutes, Taurus F.C's Amílton Sanches shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Doriva Sá came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Taurus F.C reached it. Pedro Luiz Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Róbson Valladares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edu Cruz in the 35th minute of the match. If Edu Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abel Andrade got free with Róbson Valladares in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Roger Cosme came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Taurus F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Cosme couldn't finish the play. 46 minutes into the match, Cuipiranga's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz Botelho came free, but Doriva Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Abel Andrade made a precise shot to the right of Róbson Valladares. Taurus F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Cruz in the 53rd minute of play forced Taurus F.C's goalkeeper Róbson Valladares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Abel Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Cuipiranga defense, Pedro Luiz Botelho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doriva Sá. The Cuipiranga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doriva Sá should have stopped the shot. 65 minutes into the match, Taurus F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Cruz came free, but Róbson Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Cuipiranga defense, Roger Cosme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doriva Sá. The Cuipiranga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doriva Sá should have stopped the shot. Doriva Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. With a little luck, Cuipiranga's Doriva Sá got control of the ball when Roger Cosme tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Taurus F.C's zone, Abel Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Róbson Valladares came out of the goal and Abel Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Róbson Valladares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Cruz in the 93rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugo de Senna during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 98 minutes into the game, one of Cuipiranga:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The Cuipiranga supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Taurus F.C's performance. The match ended with a win for Taurus F.C.
