Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thiago de Amaral to make the kick off. Thiago de Amaral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raphael Gerber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Itapoan SS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Álvaro Tinoco in the 55th minute. When André Luís Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Itapoan SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luís Pereira couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Itapoan SS booed when CLUBE NÁUTICO CAPIBARIBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wesley Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raphael Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Luís Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Gualter de Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Joélson Rodrigues fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itapoan SS's protests and gave Joélson Rodrigues a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, CLUBE NÁUTICO CAPIBARIBE's Eliseu Saldanha tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The Itapoan SS manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing CLUBE NÁUTICO CAPIBARIBE to win.
