Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nando Salles started the match with the kick off. Edson Ferreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amauri Loyola's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. In the 8th minute, Amauri Loyola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Kiko Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 12th minute by Gilson Messias got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Norberto Hermes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilson Messias in the 14th minute. Edson Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri Loyola in the 20th minute of play. Edson Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kiko Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Amauri Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the game, Décio de Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maricoabo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio Novorizontino the free kick. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maricoabo! The supporters of Grêmio Novorizontino booed when Maricoabo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gabriel de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio Novorizontino's protests and gave Gabriel de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Grêmio Novorizontino getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Gabriel de Queiroz hit a great ball. Gilson Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 46 minutes into the match, Maricoabo's goal looked a bit too open when Amauri Loyola came free, but Edson Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nando Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Norberto Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Edson Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amauri Loyola in the 58th minute of the match. Kiko Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amauri Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Ferreira having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amauri Loyola in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edson Ferreira saved Maricoabo from getting behind. Kiko Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nando Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amauri Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Nando Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maricoabo's supporters rose to their feet, but Nando Salles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Hermes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the last second Edson Ferreira throw himself and got hold of the ball when Amauri Loyola in the 75thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amauri Loyola in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edson Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maricoabo's Nando Salles got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norberto Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Messias in the 82nd minute of play forced Grêmio Novorizontino's goalkeeper Norberto Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilson Messias struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Norberto Hermes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maricoabo. In the 85th minute, Kiko Domingues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Grêmio Novorizontino's Amauri Loyola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edson Ferreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maricoabo's Edson Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amauri Loyola in the 89th minute of play. The supporters of Grêmio Novorizontino booed when Maricoabo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kiko Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kiko Domingues came free with the goalkeeper in the 98th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edson Ferreira could save by the left post.
