Márcio Zanette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raí Dias in the 10th minute of the match. Erasmo Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Porto having to interfere. Lúcio Travassos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Márcio Zanette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Horácio Meirelles during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Horácio Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. If Lúcio Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. In the 43rd minute, Raí Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raí Dias to make the kick off. Zé Augusto Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Márcio Zanette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Raí Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raí Dias was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 61st minute. Liverpool FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Lúcio Travassos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Márcio Zanette made a huge save. Márcio Zanette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raí Dias in the 66th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Palmeiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raí Dias came free, but Márcio Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Erasmo Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Palmeiras FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Nunes couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Liverpool FC's Raí Dias slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Márcio Zanette. That made the score 2-2 after 75 minutes of play. 78 minutes into the game, Tiago Gabriel Brodel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Márcio Zanette. Tiago Gabriel Brodel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. In the 87th minute, Agostinho Pirani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palmeiras FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. 91 minutes into the game, Erasmo Nunes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Vicente Porto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 95 played minutes Palmeiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Souza. When the referee blew the final whistle, Palmeiras FC could leave the field as winners, despite Liverpool FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
