Júnior Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Alberto Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Jerônimo Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonçalo Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho Azevedo having to interfere. Custódio Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rdth minute of the game Gonçalo Sá who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rajadinha AD's Rubinho Azevedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerônimo Freire made a kick off. A hard shot 53 in the game by Gonçalo Sá from a close distance when the talented Rubinho Azevedo managed to make a qualified save. Rajadinha AD's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerônimo Freire in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho Azevedo saved Rajadinha AD from getting behind. Rubinho Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerônimo Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Alessandro Valadares's late challenge caught a Rajadinha AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alessandro Valadares helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rajadinha AD booed when Lemos SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Carlos Eduardo Jacinto notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Lemos SC's Alberto Senna. Alberto Senna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
