Guto Madureira hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. When Celso Porto fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santos Futebol Clube's protests and gave Celso Porto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Santos Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Celso Porto hit a great ball. Vitório Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Raimundo Cerezo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilmar de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dida Donato in the 13th minute of play. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Celso Porto sped through Aroases AD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nuno Fontes. 20 minutes into the game, Gláuber Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aroases AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos Futebol Clube the free kick. After 20 played minutes Aroases AD got a freekick which was hit by Gláuber Perez. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celso Porto in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nuno Fontes saved Aroases AD from getting behind. Celso Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Nuno Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ismael Ferraz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Gilmar de Lima skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Santos Futebol Clube's Gilmar de Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Donato in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Celso Porto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Nuno Fontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luizão de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luizão de Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Santos Futebol Clube booed when Aroases AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizão de Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso Porto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Fontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Celso Porto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santos Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. When Santos Futebol Clube's Celso Porto in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Aroases AD's goalie prevented a goal. The Aroases AD players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santos Futebol Clube were winning 1-3.

When Celso Porto came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Santos Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Porto couldn't finish the play. After 54 minutes of play Aroases AD's Gláuber Perez was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Guto Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the game, Ismael Ferraz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aroases AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos Futebol Clube the free kick. A collision led to Aroases AD getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ismael Ferraz hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute Ismael Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celso Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Nuno Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celso Porto did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Nuno Fontes 70 minutes into the match. If Celso Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Ferraz might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilmar de Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ismael Ferraz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 89th match minute, Aroases AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kiko Rosado to maneuver through the defense. Santos Futebol Clube's Pedro Luís Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Santos Futebol Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Aroases AD.
