Valdemar Tróia kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Jaime Freitas took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denílson Couto. Denílson Couto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Naldo Paulista made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Timbo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardinho Lima to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in Timbo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Víktor Damião, was totally fooled by Clube Atlético Lençoense's Alberto Alves, who 53 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. A wasted opportunity for Clube Atlético Lençoense. 63 minutes into the match, Jeremias Mazza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denílson Couto. Clube Atlético Lençoense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeremias Mazza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Davi Melo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Denílson Couto. 3-2. Jaime Freitas struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Denílson Couto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Timbo. Timbo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
