The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Jaime Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Chaves in the 10th minute of play forced Socavao's goalkeeper Valdemar Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Paulo de Laras short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Chicão Cearense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Percy Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Socavao's supporters rose to their feet, but Percy Lira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chicão Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valdemar Lucas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Chaves's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Socavao's Valdemar Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias da Rocha in the 35th minute of play. After some careless play in the Socavao defense, Jaime Chaves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdemar Lucas. The Socavao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdemar Lucas should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Kblim FC booed when Socavao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delfim Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Valdemar Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Percy Lira to strike the kick off in the second half. Valdemar Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laércio Mandrak charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Kblim FC's Laércio Mandrak got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 58th minute of the match Luiz Fábio do Vale sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chicão Cearense skillfully saved the ball. Kblim FC's Chicão Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo de Lara in the 98th minute of play.
