The audience was convinced that Valdomiro Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcus Sarmento was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Sílvio Arce's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Válter Proença read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Valdomiro Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nordestina's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdomiro Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Sarmento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88thth minute of the game Dário Arruda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nordestina's Válter Proença was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Sílvio Arce put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Válter Proença. Retirolandia SC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
