Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Alex Barbosa started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, one of Esporte Clube Bahia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Matapiquara. Gustavo Vasconcelos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Artur Aguiar. 0-1. In the 10th minute Celso Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Esporte Clube Bahia's Almir Quintal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind César Queiroz. César Queiroz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Ediberto Soares was extremely unlucky when he, in the 19th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 23 played minutes Esporte Clube Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Almir Quintal. When Celso Leme came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Matapiquara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Leme couldn't finish the play. If Celso Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Matapiquara's Alex Barbosa fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oswaldo Cearense during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Matapiquara getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Oswaldo Cearense hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Ediberto Soares got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tony Veiga during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. José Augusto Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Ediberto Soares's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, César Queiroz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ediberto Soares might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over César Queiroz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ediberto Soares ran back to his position shaking his head. Almir Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. César Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. César Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celso Leme struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Artur Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matapiquara. In the 75th minute, Celso Leme made a precise shot to the right of Artur Aguiar. Esporte Clube Bahia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Almir Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Queiroz having to interfere. Matapiquara's Celso Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Celso Leme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Artur Aguiar made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Leme got free with Artur Aguiar in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Celso Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Artur Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Matapiquara walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
