Sabadini's Carlos Alberto Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco de Almeida in the 2nd minute of play. A collision led to Unidos F C getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Dino Mota hit a great ball. Benedito Macedo scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christiano Martins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Alberto Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Sabadini getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Antônio Carlos Berger hit a great ball. Caco de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Linhares having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Régis Alvarenga in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Alberto Linhares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Júlio Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the game, Frederico Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sabadini's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unidos F C the free kick. A collision led to Sabadini getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Frederico Tavares hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute Caco de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Caco de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Régis Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Carlos Alberto Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Unidos F C getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Dino Mota hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júlio Gomes was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Dino Mota recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Alberto Linhares. Dino Mota showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 56th minute, Sabadini's Donato Cavalcante seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Donato Cavalcante the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sabadini protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Donato Cavalcante had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sabadini fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! In the 58th minute there was a penalty for Unidos F C. Didi Varela stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Carlos Alberto Linhares. 1-2. Caco de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Alberto Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Alberto Linhares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Régis Alvarenga's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Sabadini's Carlos Alberto Linhares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Sabadini from getting a goal against them. Flavinho Meira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Carlos Alberto Linhares made a huge save. In the 78th minute, Caco de Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sabadini's zone, Caco de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Alberto Linhares came out of the goal and Caco de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caco de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Linhares having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Unidos F C's goal looked a bit too open when Benedito Macedo came free, but Christiano Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Alberto Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Sabadini supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Unidos F C's performance. The match ended with a win for Unidos F C.
