Acácio Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edu Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Velasco having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Reis in the 19th minute of play forced Libertines's goalkeeper Guto Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Libertines's Guto Meirelles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme Reis in the 27th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Libertines's goalkeeper Guto Meirelles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doriva Simão. After 38 minutes of play, Libertines's Benjamim Sabóia made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Acácio Velasco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Robinho da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edu Aguiar made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Libertines got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim Sabóia. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Edu Aguiar took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Acácio Velasco to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Poty de way's zone, Telmo Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Acácio Velasco came out of the goal and Telmo Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Poty de way's goalkeeper Acácio Velasco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Edu Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Libertines's supporters rose to their feet, but Edu Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Acácio Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Telmo Catarinense got free with Acácio Velasco in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 71 minutes into the match, Egídio Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guto Meirelles. Libertines's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Egídio Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Robinho da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Meirelles having to interfere. Edu Aguiar struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Acácio Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Libertines. Telmo Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Acácio Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
