Ronaldo Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Souto having to interfere. When Jeferson Duarte came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Ijui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeferson Duarte couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Tropa Elite getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Belmiro Falcão hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tropa Elite's zone, Ronaldo Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Souto came out of the goal and Ronaldo Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeferson Duarte in the 11th minute of play. Jeferson Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Ijui's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Mazza came free, but Egídio Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ijui getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Umberto Neiva hit a great ball. Ijui's Jeferson Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ronaldo Moreira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Souto was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. After having played for 22 minutes, Ronaldo Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ijui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldo Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ijui's Egídio Schmidt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Mazza in the 38th minute of play. Ronaldo Moreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute Wilton Mazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesinha Jacinto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Egídio Schmidt made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jeferson Duarte stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Afonsinho Rocha hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Cesinha Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tropa Elite's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesinha Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egídio Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th match minute, Tropa Elite was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldo Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Joel Souto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute Wilton Mazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeferson Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cesinha Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Tropa Elite's Alberto Coelho got a free kick in the 88th minute. A collision led to Tropa Elite getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Belmiro Falcão hit a great ball. Ijui's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
