Chico Zilles showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jarūnas Ambrasas hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 27thth minute of the game Marcinho Pena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but IMPERIAL REGATAS SOCCER's Anselmo Mandrak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to IMPERIAL REGATAS SOCCER getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Mourad Claeys hit a great ball. When Chico Zilles came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the IMPERIAL REGATAS SOCCER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chico Zilles couldn't finish the play. Chico Zilles might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeu Schmidt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chico Zilles ran back to his position shaking his head. Dênis Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Schmidt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Zilles in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chico Zilles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anselmo Mandrak was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Humberto Batista. Anselmo Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcinho Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 59thth minute of the game Chico Zilles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iepe's Amadeu Schmidt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Chico Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chico Zilles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Amadeu Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The long shot by Humberto Batista in the 68th minute really tested Anselmo Mandrak's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 70 minutes into the match, IMPERIAL REGATAS SOCCER's goal looked a bit too open when Marcinho Pena came free, but Anselmo Mandrak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Marcinho Pena came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Iepe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Pena couldn't finish the play.
