Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlinhos Ortiz started the match with the kick off. Sobradinho's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Baltazar Carneiro 3 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. If Alexsandro Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute, Alexsandro Figueiredo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Murilo Maciel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Vasco's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Brasil came free, but Vitório Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Breno Tavares struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Murilo Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vasco. Vasco's Vitório Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gino Macedo in the 20th minute of play. Vitório Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Nóbrega in the 22nd minute of play. Alexsandro Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Breno Tavares took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Murilo Maciel to make any attempt to save it. In the 34th match minute, Sobradinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vivaldo Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Carlinhos Ortiz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vitório Sabóia was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Breno Tavares made a kick off. Breno Tavares struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. After 60 minutes, Vânderson Corrêa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vasco and the Sobradinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Vasco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vânderson Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Baltazar Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vasco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Daniel Cunha took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vitório Sabóia. Vitório Sabóia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. The supporters of Sobradinho booed when Vasco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Breno Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitório Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos Ortiz in the 79th minute of play. Vasco's attentive Chicão Faria managed to snatch the ball when Breno Souza made a throw-in in the 81st minute of the game. After 82 played minutes, Vasco's Henrique Reis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Murilo Maciel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vasco reached it. Vasco's Breno Tavares suffered a concussion in the 85th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Vasco's Charles Pirani was substituted for Breno Tavares. After 87 played minutes Sobradinho got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Freitas. Vasco's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
