Xui EC's Ernani Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Penha in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of NYLAND STAR SOCCER booed when Xui EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manoel Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Leal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Amadeu das Neves firmly grabbed it by the left post. Amadeu das Neves made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Armando Tróia sent off a good shot on target. Thomás Montenegro took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernani Vergílio. Ernani Vergílio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 16th minute Antônio da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernani Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Xui EC's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio da Rocha came free, but Ernani Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernani Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Penha in the 25th minute of play. Amadeu das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Adolfo Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. When Ademar Leal fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xui EC's protests and gave Ademar Leal a yellow card for diving instead. Xui EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antônio da Rocha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Ernani Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Xui EC's goalkeeper Ernani Vergílio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Adolfo Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. A collision led to Xui EC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ademar Leal hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomás Montenegro made a kick off. NYLAND STAR SOCCER's Thomás Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Xui EC's goalkeeper Ernani Vergílio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leonel Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Vergílio having to interfere. In the 58th minute, João Adolfo Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Thomás Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernani Vergílio was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Ernani Vergílio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomás Montenegro in the 65th minute. Cléberson Dantas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Ernani Vergílio made a huge save. Ernani Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomás Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomás Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, NYLAND STAR SOCCER's Ernani Vergílio threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Antônio da Rocha, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 92 minutes into the game, Antônio Carlos Marquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xui EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NYLAND STAR SOCCER the free kick. Thomás Montenegro shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When the final whistle sounded NYLAND STAR SOCCER left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Xui EC.
