In the 8th minute, Grêmio UG's Cristian de Senna dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Cristian de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grêmio UG's Cristian de Senna was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian de Senna during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 20 played minutes Grêmio UG got a freekick which was hit by Cristian de Senna. The supporters of Lanceiro AD booed when Grêmio UG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredão Maranhense was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Lanceiro AD booed when Grêmio UG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Grêmio UG getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Doriva Prestes hit a great ball. Décio Severo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Medeiros in the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of Lanceiro AD booed when Grêmio UG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doriva Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grêmio UG's Décio Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Medeiros in the 37th minute of play. Cristian de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Christian Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gerson Arantes fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lanceiro AD's protests and gave Gerson Arantes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd match minute, Lanceiro AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerson Arantes to maneuver through the defense. If Cristian de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristian de Senna made a kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Grêmio UG's Cristian de Senna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Bezerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Enrique Medeiros took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Décio Severo to make any attempt to save it. Grêmio UG's Cristian de Senna got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the game, Enrique Medeiros recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Décio Severo. Enrique Medeiros showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. If Enrique Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian de Senna took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christian Bezerra. Christian Bezerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Fausto Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grêmio UG's Doriva Prestes suffered a sore thigh after 81 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Walmyr Rosa during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Lanceiro AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Rosa to maneuver through the defense. Grêmio UG's Fausto Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 89th minute, Enrique Medeiros reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Décio Severo. The goal made the score 4-3. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Grêmio UG had won after a very even match.
