Tiaguinho Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 19 minutes, Christiano Ferreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monarch and the Patundova SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Monarch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Patundova SC's Alfredinho Arósio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Tiaguinho Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Trancoso in the 31st minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Patundova SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Tavares came free, but Benê Mumbach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Gilberto Tavares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benê Mumbach. Patundova SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilberto Tavares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
