After 7 minutes, Gabriel Galvão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gil AD and the Cabra players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cabra booed when Gil AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Nelsinho França ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antti Hegemann was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 18th minute Juvenal Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antti Hegemann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Carlos Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bebeto Luz in the 20th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Gil AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. João Carlos Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bebeto Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After having played for 24 minutes, João Augusto Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cabra's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Augusto Hermes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gil AD's zone, João Augusto Hermes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos Azevedo came out of the goal and João Augusto Hermes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juvenal Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antti Hegemann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho França in the 42nd minute of play. Antti Hegemann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juvenal Romero in the 43rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Gil AD's João Carlos Azevedo got control of the ball when João Augusto Hermes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 48 minutes, João Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gil AD and the Cabra players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gil AD getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. João Mota hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Bebeto Luz made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Cabra's Gilberto Cardoso got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Cabra's João Augusto Hermes got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Gil AD's Juvenal Romero in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cabra's goalie prevented a goal. If Nelsinho França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nelsinho França struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Antti Hegemann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gil AD. Dedê Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Gil AD booed when Cabra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Gil AD's Danilo Domingues broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Antti Hegemann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juvenal Romero went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After 89 minutes, Caio Lopez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gil AD and the Cabra players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gil AD's Caio Lopez got a free kick in the 89th minute. Nelsinho França's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Antti Hegemann skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Juvenal Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gil AD had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
