With a little luck, patriotas's Hermínio de Andrade got control of the ball when Afonsinho Arósio tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Fiori Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, patriotas's Fiori Soares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iuri Godoi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Tapecu's goal looked a bit too open when Fiori Soares came free, but Iuri Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iuri Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fiori Soares in the 61st minute of the match. Afonsinho Arósio might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hermínio de Andrade. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The referee ignored Tapecu's protests and gave Carlinhos de Sena a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tapecu! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fiori Soares in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iuri Godoi saved Tapecu from getting behind. In the 77th match minute, Tapecu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Netto to maneuver through the defense. Fabiano Alvarenga was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 78th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, patriotas's goal looked a bit too open when Afonsinho Arósio came free, but Hermínio de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded patriotas left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Tapecu.
