Pedrão Correia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Meirelles's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. The supporters of Russinha EC booed when Kevao So Pao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Pedrão Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Álvaro Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Russinha EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrão Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vinícius Paulista charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Pedrão Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Bernardo Pitta hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When Felipe Meirelles came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Russinha EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Meirelles couldn't finish the play. If Felipe Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Álvaro Massa might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedrão Correia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Álvaro Massa ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Kevao So Pao defense, Felipe Meirelles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedrão Correia. The Kevao So Pao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedrão Correia should have stopped the shot. Luisão Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murilo Bertassi in the 91st minute of play.
