In the 7thth minute of the game Kléber Mendonça who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Avanzzeira F.C's Glauco Tasso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Glauco Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Monteiro in the 10th minute of play. When Kléber Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Bolaxa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kléber Mendonça couldn't finish the play. When Lino Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolaxa's protests and gave Lino Maranhense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Bolaxa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. When Serginho Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Avanzzeira F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serginho Carneiro couldn't finish the play. Romário Monteiro took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Glauco Tasso. Glauco Tasso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kléber Mendonça in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Glauco Tasso saved Avanzzeira F.C from getting behind. Kléber Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erivaldo Gonçalves made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Serginho Carneiro sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Romário Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolaxa's supporters rose to their feet, but Romário Monteiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Glauco Tasso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Romário Monteiro scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Glauco Tasso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kléber Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glauco Tasso having to interfere. Romário Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Glauco Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Romário Monteiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Glauco Tasso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When Kléber Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Bolaxa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kléber Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Romário Monteiro made the kick off in the second half. Nestor Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Romário Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Avanzzeira F.C's Glauco Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Avanzzeira F.C from getting a goal against them. In the 63rd minute, Bolaxa's Romário Monteiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Glauco Tasso. Glauco Tasso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Kléber Mendonça's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Glauco Tasso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kléber Mendonça succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 71st playminute. Avanzzeira F.C's Glauco Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Monteiro in the 74th minute of play. Avanzzeira F.C's Glauco Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Avanzzeira F.C from getting a goal against them. If Romário Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lino Maranhense hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Erivaldo Gonçalves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amauri Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Avanzzeira F.C getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Nestor Magalhães hit a great ball. Bolaxa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luís Fabiano Mendonça in the 89th minute. A nice corner shot did that Luís Fabiano Mendonça got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Glauco Tasso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Erivaldo Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri Cearense in the 94th minute of play. Kléber Mendonça in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Glauco Tasso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bolaxa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
