Luís Paulo do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 24 minutes into the match, Pastorador FC's goal looked a bit too open when Serafim Baptista came free, but Luís Paulo do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Elano Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hélio Baptista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robinho Alvarenga's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Canhoe's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Elano Cabral fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Elano Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elano Cabral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hélio Baptista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robinho Alvarenga made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Serafim Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pastorador FC's Luís Paulo do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafim Baptista in the 56th minute of play. When Kléberson da Mata fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pastorador FC's protests and gave Kléberson da Mata a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pastorador FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Kléberson da Mata hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Baptista in the 59th minute of play forced Pastorador FC's goalkeeper Luís Paulo do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
