In the 11th match minute, Cerquinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anderson Carioca to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute Edmundo Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anderson Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Edmundo Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oswaldo Vander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remo Miranda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Belchior Damião during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Bonilha AD fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Bonilha AD's Oswaldo Vander looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 37 minutes, Lino Vides mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cerquinho and the Bonilha AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lino Vides hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute Oswaldo Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oswaldo Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Bonilha AD were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oswaldo Vander to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes Cerquinho's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was César dos Santos who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cerquinho's goalie and right to Enéas Soeiro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cerquinho's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Giovani de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Gilson Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giovani de Carvalho came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Cerquinho's Gilson Leite. But to his dismay, Gilson Leite quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of Cerquinho booed when Bonilha AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Carlos Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Gilson Leite left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cerquinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Giovani de Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leandro Souza's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cerquinho's zone, Edmundo Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remo Miranda came out of the goal and Edmundo Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Leandro Souza came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Cerquinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leandro Souza couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oswaldo Vander in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remo Miranda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Cerquinho getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Gilson Leite hit a great ball. In the 97th minute of the match César dos Santos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Remo Miranda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bonilha AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cerquinho.
