The Cachucha fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Cachucha's Afonso Marinho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emílio Rocha in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doriva de Senna saved Moipora EC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso Marinho in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Dênis de Lara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Evaristo Madureira. Cachucha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gualter Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gualter Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Evaristo Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The supporters of Cachucha booed when Moipora EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualter Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the game, one of Moipora EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Alfredo de Brito fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moipora EC's protests and gave Alfredo de Brito a yellow card for diving instead. Doriva de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
