Haroldo Severo started the match with the kick off. Haroldo Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aílton Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardinho Hoffmann kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Aírton de Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aílton Arruda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aírton de Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. Aírton de Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aílton Arruda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Itabi's Adhemar Donato got a free kick in the 15th minute. Haroldo Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Haroldo Severo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Itabi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Severo couldn't finish the play. Aírton de Amorim received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aílton Arruda came out and tried to block the shot, but Aírton de Amorim slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. Paulinho Braga hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Zé Pedro Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamílton Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aílton Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Zé Pedro Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Aílton Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro Albuquerque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 32 in the game by Aírton de Amorim from a close distance when the talented Aílton Arruda managed to make a qualified save. Colombia SS's players were relieved. In the 33rd minute, Rui Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Aírton de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aílton Arruda made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Aírton de Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Rui Montenegro hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Elói Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

Aílton Urbanos short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Zé Pedro Albuquerque to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Aílton Urbano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Zé Pedro Albuquerque skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Colombia SS booed when Itabi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulinho Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Edmundo Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itabi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colombia SS the free kick. Zé Pedro Albuquerque breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aílton Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton de Amorim in the 63rd minute of play. Hamílton Cruz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Pedro Albuquerque having to make a save. Aílton Urbano spun around in front of the goal 71 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Itabi's goal. The supporters of Colombia SS booed when Itabi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroldo Severo in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aílton Arruda prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
