Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Patrício Tróia made the kick off and thus started the match. The Araguaiana fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Araguaiana's César Valle looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Araguaiana's Acácio Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Hoffmann in the 10th minute of play. After 14 played minutes Ibiara SC got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Lago. After a defensive mix-up in Ibiara SC's zone, Patrício Tróia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Marquez came out of the goal and Patrício Tróia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrício Tróia in the 17th minute of play forced Ibiara SC's goalkeeper Samuel Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ibiara SC's Zeca Santana got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 23rd minute Leonel Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrício Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Samuel Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Haroldo França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Acácio Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Haroldo França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Senna having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Araguaiana's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Hoffmann came free, but Acácio Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Maurinho Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haroldo França got free with Acácio Senna in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Araguaiana were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonel Hoffmann made a kick off. Samuel Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrício Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. César Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Marquez having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrício Tróia in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuel Marquez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. César Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Acácio Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo França in the 65th minute of play. 67 minutes into the game, Patrício Tróia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Samuel Marquez. Patrício Tróia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. If Patrício Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Araguaiana's Acácio Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Hoffmann in the 76th minute of play. Leonel Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92ndth minute of the game Haroldo França who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Araguaiana's Acácio Senna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leonel Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Senna having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Araguaiana's Nestor Chaves got a free kick in the 97th minute. Haroldo França blasted a shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Acácio Senna having to make a save. Acácio Senna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonel Hoffmann's shot from short distance in the 101st minute. The Araguaiana supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Araguaiana would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
