Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Itabi's Haroldo Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ademir Mandrak got free with Zé Pedro Albuquerque in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 minutes, Zeca Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibiara SC and the Itabi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute of the match Adhemar Donato shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuel Marquez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Samuel Marquez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haroldo Severo's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Haroldo França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th minute, Haroldo França left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ibiara SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 45th minute Haroldo Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonel Hoffmann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Haroldo Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Samuel Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Linhares charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Linhares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 60 played minutes Itabi got a freekick which was hit by Richard Linhares.
