Lenílson Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Apody's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Macava AD the free kick. The Macava AD fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Macava AD's Delfim Reis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lenílson Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th match minute, Apody was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breno Vander to maneuver through the defense. Luizão Dantas thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Paulinho Prata, a very annoying self made goal in the 35th minute which led to 1-3. João Paulo da Silva was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Wágner Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macava AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Wágner Bertassi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulinho Prata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Delfim Reis made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Delfim Reis in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulinho Prata saved Apody from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Apody's zone, José Augusto Secco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulinho Prata came out of the goal and José Augusto Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnaldo Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenílson Zonta in the 64th minute of play. Lenílson Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Simões having to interfere. If Lenílson Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If João Paulo da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Armando dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Delfim Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute of the match Davi Cosme shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulinho Prata showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Lenílson Zonta came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Apody fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenílson Zonta couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Macava AD eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
