With a little luck, Currais SS's Simão Novaes got control of the ball when Lauro Souza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodolfo Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Novaes having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Breja SC's Rodolfo Viana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Simão Novaes. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Rosado in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felippe Tinoco saved Breja SC from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodolfo Viana to strike the kick off in the second half.
