Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Digo Lima ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Eduardo Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Digo Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Corixa getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Jorge Catarinense hit a great ball. Olavo Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the game, Digo Lima cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Carlos Eduardo Jacinto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 17th minute, Digo Lima made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Eduardo Jacinto. Corixa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 20 minutes into the match, Corixa's goal looked a bit too open when Digo Lima came free, but Carlos Eduardo Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Jorge Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Pecone EC booed when Corixa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amílton Andrade took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlos Eduardo Jacinto. Corixa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 25th minute, Digo Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Corixa's zone, Digo Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Eduardo Jacinto came out of the goal and Digo Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 31 minutes, Rafael Mattos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pecone EC and the Corixa players grew even worse after the yellow card. 33 minutes into the match, Bernardinho de Azevedo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pedrão Santos, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Digo Lima in the 44th minute of play forced Corixa's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Eduardo Jacinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olavo Souza in the 45th minute of play. After some careless play in the Corixa defense, Olavo Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Eduardo Jacinto. The Corixa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Eduardo Jacinto should have stopped the shot. After the first half Pecone EC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Digo Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olavo Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Jacinto having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Joaquim Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Pecone EC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardinho de Azevedo came free, but Pedrão Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Olavo Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pecone EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Digo Lima in the 67th minute of play forced Corixa's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonsinho Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd match minute, Corixa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardinho de Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Digo Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Eduardo Jacinto came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Pecone EC's Olavo Souza. But to his dismay, Olavo Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Afonsinho Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Pedrão Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pecone EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
