The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 8 minutes of play, Suassurana SS's Naldo Vasconcelos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Márcio Andrade was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Augusto Dantas in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Márcio Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 12th minute, Perivaldo Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Suassurana SS's Agnaldo de Carvalho broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 26 minutes into the game, Naldo Vasconcelos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Márcio Andrade was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th minute, Betão Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Suassurana SS's Agnaldo de Carvalho tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 35 minutes into the game, Carlos Augusto Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Suassurana SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Queimadinha the free kick. Carlos Augusto Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match, Dedê Prata tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nicolas Lucas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 40 minutes into the match, Suassurana SS's goalkeeper Nicolas Lucas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emerson Peixoto. After some careless play in the Queimadinha defense, Carlos Augusto Dantas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Márcio Andrade. The Queimadinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Márcio Andrade should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Naldo Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Suassurana SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Naldo Vasconcelos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Márcio Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Queimadinha players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Suassurana SS were winning 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dedê Prata made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Suassurana SS's goal looked a bit too open when Emerson Peixoto came free, but Nicolas Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vladimir Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Dedê Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Suassurana SS defense, Dedê Prata kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicolas Lucas. The Suassurana SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolas Lucas should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Suassurana SS's Agnaldo de Carvalho got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Dedê Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Queimadinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedê Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolas Lucas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 67 minutes into the match, Emerson Peixoto notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Suassurana SS's Nicolas Lucas. Nicolas Lucas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nicolas Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Prata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emerson Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 80 minutes into the match, Emerson Peixoto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicolas Lucas. Suassurana SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emerson Peixoto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. When Hugo Prata fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Queimadinha's protests and gave Hugo Prata a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes Queimadinha got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Prata. Suassurana SS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
