After a defensive mix-up in Moacir's zone, Orlando Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aluísio Vergílio came out of the goal and Orlando Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diego Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Penha in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, José Augusto Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 13 minutes, Luís Fabiano de Mendonça mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atininga and the Moacir players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diego Urbano had in the 22ndth minute some difficulties stopping Gualter Alcântara's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chicão Barreto during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kléber Penha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aluísio Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Luz in the 55th minute of play. After 55 minutes of play, Atininga's Cléber Luz made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aluísio Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 58 minutes into the match, Atininga's Orlando Donato sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aluísio Vergílio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diego Urbano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edu Pinho went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Aluísio Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aluísio Vergílio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Orlando Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aluísio Vergílio having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Cléber Luz notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Moacir's Aluísio Vergílio. Aluísio Vergílio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Orlando Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aluísio Vergílio having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Moacir eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
