Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Remo Furtado took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute, Durvalino Novaes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 8 played minutes Azurita SC got a freekick which was hit by Remo Furtado. Azurita SC's Waldemar Zilles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Novaes in the 16th minute of play. Christian Nogueira charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Nogueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Canatiba booed when Azurita SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frédson Gaspar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Waldemar Zilles. Azurita SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Durvalino Novaes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulisses Marques struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Waldemar Zilles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canatiba. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Durvalino Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canatiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldemar Zilles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Remo Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 31 played minutes, Azurita SC's André Luiz Linhares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Renato Paes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Azurita SC reached it. Belchior Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Paes having to interfere. Canatiba's Renato Paes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remo Furtado in the 46th minute of play. 49 minutes into the match, Deivid Saraiva notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Azurita SC's Waldemar Zilles. Waldemar Zilles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulisses Marques to strike the kick off in the second half. Belchior Machado struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Renato Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azurita SC. Durvalino Novaes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulisses Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 86 played minutes Canatiba got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Pimenta. In the 87th minute, Jaime Sampaio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Canatiba were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Azurita SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Frédson Gaspar took the corner. Ulisses Marques struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Waldemar Zilles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canatiba. In the 95th match minute, Azurita SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wágner Moreira to maneuver through the defense. After 97 minutes of play, Canatiba's Durvalino Novaes made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldemar Zilles was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Canatiba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Canatiba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
