In the 3rd minute, Edson do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Buriche SS's goalkeeper Rodolfo Braga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emílio Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Cardozo in the 6th minute of play. Buriche SS's Rodolfo Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani Prestes in the 9th minute of play. Ernani Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Buriche SS's goalkeeper Rodolfo Braga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adalmo Pereira. With a little luck, Buriche SS's Rodolfo Braga got control of the ball when Adalmo Pereira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Gentio SS booed when Buriche SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrão Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Buriche SS's Rubens Botelho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emílio Freitas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 28th minute, Rubens Botelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emílio Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubens Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gentio SS's Emílio Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Botelho in the 31st minute of play. When Edgar Carioca fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gentio SS's protests and gave Edgar Carioca a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Buriche SS booed when Gentio SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gentio SS's zone, Clemente França stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emílio Freitas came out of the goal and Clemente França tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rubens Botelho took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emílio Freitas. Emílio Freitas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Buriche SS's Rodolfo Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani Prestes in the 42nd minute of play. Rubens Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emílio Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emílio Freitas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Buriche SS were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernani Prestes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Buriche SS getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Narciso Cardozo hit a great ball. Emílio Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Cardozo in the 54th minute of play. Rubens Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodolfo Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernani Prestes in the 59th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Adalmo Pereira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodolfo Braga was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. If Narciso Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliézer Lago's late challenge caught a Buriche SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliézer Lago helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gentio SS's Eliézer Lago got a free kick in the 65th minute. Ernani Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 played minutes Buriche SS got a freekick which was hit by Edson do Valle. When Gentio SS's Adalmo Pereira in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Buriche SS's goalie prevented a goal. In the 79th minute Adalmo Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adalmo Pereira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodolfo Braga having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Gentio SS's Allan Goiano got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Emílio Freitas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robinho Brodel in the 84th minute. Ernani Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Rodolfo Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Allan Goiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Rubens Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buriche SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubens Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Freitas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Buriche SS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gentio SS throughout the match.
