Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flávio Leal in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Augusto Linhares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Carlos Hames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Carlos Hames recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 15th minute Mazinho Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaltino Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Flávio Leal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Graolandia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 19 minutes into the match, Flávio Leal notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Encosta EC's João Augusto Linhares. João Augusto Linhares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flávio Leal during the 25th minute. Encosta EC's supporters rose to their feet, but José Carlos Hames was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaltino Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 43 played minutes Encosta EC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano Linhares. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Miguel Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Graolandia's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Vidal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Augusto Linhares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Encosta EC's José Carlos Hames got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

José Carlos Hames blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isaltino Prestes having to make a save. Mazinho Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaltino Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Carlos Hames, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. João Augusto Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flávio Leal in the 58th minute of the match. If Mazinho Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Encosta EC's goalkeeper João Augusto Linhares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Encosta EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Miguel Vidal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 70th minute, Graolandia's Flávio Leal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. In the 78th minute, Miguel Vidal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Augusto Linhares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Isaltino Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mazinho Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 86th minute Flávio Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Augusto Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Vidal came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and João Augusto Linhares could save by the left post. Miguel Vidal succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 93rd playminute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Graolandia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
