After having played for 5 minutes, Sílvio Luís Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tonta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luís Arantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7th minute Flávio Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio Luís Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Erivaldo Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tonta's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Rezende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaltino Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute Erivaldo Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaltino Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luís Arantes in the 27th minute of play forced Graolandia's goalkeeper Isaltino Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Tonta's Sílvio Luís Arantes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isaltino Prestes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Flávio Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tonta's Erivaldo Rezende got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Miguel Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tonta's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Flávio Leal 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1.

If Sílvio Luís Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovanni Mota received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Isaltino Prestes came out and tried to block the shot, but Geovanni Mota slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 69th minute. A collision led to Graolandia getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Zézinho Mineiro hit a great ball. Adhemar Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Leal in the 78th minute of play. Miguel Vidal struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Adhemar Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Graolandia. In the 91st minute Miguel Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tonta's Adhemar Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Leal in the 92nd minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
