Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Mazinho Paiva started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Tonta's zone, Mazinho Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adhemar Ferraz came out of the goal and Mazinho Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Encosta EC fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when Encosta EC's Mazinho Paiva looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. José Carlos Hames recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mazinho Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Ferraz having to interfere. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tonta's goalkeeper Adhemar Ferraz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Carlos Hames in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adhemar Ferraz saved Tonta from getting behind. Adhemar Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Carlos Hames in the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of Tonta booed when Encosta EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazinho Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. If José Carlos Hames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tonta getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Gláuber Queiroz hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, Encosta EC's Ernesto de Andrade broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 34th minute Mazinho Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes in the game, Sílvio Luís Arantes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without João Augusto Linhares having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Tonta's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Paiva came free, but Adhemar Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that José Carlos Hames's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adhemar Ferraz was relentless in the 41st minute of the game.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sílvio Luís Arantes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luiz Fabiano Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Ferraz having to interfere. In the last second Adhemar Ferraz throw himself and got hold of the ball when Mazinho Paiva in the 59thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Mazinho Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Luís Arantes during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 67thth minute of the game Mazinho Paiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tonta's Adhemar Ferraz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 89th match minute, Encosta EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fabiano Linhares to maneuver through the defense. Encosta EC's João Augusto Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erivaldo Rezende in the 90th minute of play. Afonsinho da Cunha was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 94 minutes into the match. Adhemar Ferraz had in the 96thth minute some difficulties stopping Ernesto de Andrade's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a long run with the ball, Ernesto de Andrade did a trick in the 96th minute in front of Tonta's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 0-3. An impressive performance by Encosta EC's Ernesto de Andrade! The Encosta EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Encosta EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
