Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Sambaitiba EC's José Maria Silveira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Léo Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Itapiruna's José Paulo Souza got control of the ball when Fellipe Madureira tried to sneak it across the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, one of Itapiruna:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The audience was convinced that Lenílson Pinheiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Toninho Mendonça was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. After having played for 21 minutes, Lenílson Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapiruna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenílson Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lenílson Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Mendonça having to interfere. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sambaitiba EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Raúl Nóbrega was slow to take the kick. During this time Itapiruna's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 33 minutes, Léo Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapiruna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Léo Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fellipe Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Léo Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapiruna's supporters rose to their feet, but Léo Reis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toninho Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute, Sambaitiba EC's José Maria Silveira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind José Paulo Souza. José Paulo Souza yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Sambaitiba EC's zone, Lenílson Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toninho Mendonça came out of the goal and Lenílson Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute, Léo Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fellipe Madureira in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Paulo Souza saved Itapiruna from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Toninho Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Léo Reis sent off a good shot on target. When Victor Pernambucano fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itapiruna's protests and gave Victor Pernambucano a yellow card for diving instead. Fellipe Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Maria Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Paulo Souza having to interfere. If Lenílson Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fellipe Madureira in the 77th minute of play forced Itapiruna's goalkeeper José Paulo Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fellipe Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Maria Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. José Paulo Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Lenílson Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fellipe Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Lenílson Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sambaitiba EC had won after a very even match.
