Lúcio Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léo Reis in the 17th minute of the match. Dráusio Ferreira's late challenge caught a Itapiruna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dráusio Ferreira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Jiquie FC's Dráusio Ferreira got a free kick in the 18th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 25 minutes into the game, when Wiliam da Silveira put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Itapiruna:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jiquie FC:s goal. In the 26th minute there was a penalty for Jiquie FC. Sidnei Cunha stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Paulo Souza. 1-1. Franklin Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the match, Itapiruna's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Ferraz came free, but José Paulo Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Lenílson Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Itapiruna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenílson Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
