In the 36th minute, Sambaitiba EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Valdomiro Cerezo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Toninho Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Martins in the 39th minute of play.
