Juarês Messias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Neiva in the 13th minute of play. In the 16th minute José Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juarês Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 17 minutes, Leonel Hames managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Hames was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matinhos FC's Guga Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guga Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Messias having to interfere. Juarês Messias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Hames in the 33rd minute of play. The wind increased when José Neiva made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Matinhos FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Marcelinho Cerezo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonel Hames got free with Juarês Messias in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that José Neiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juarês Messias was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. The Capim players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
