When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Júlio Lopez made a kick off. Paissandu's Renatinho Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Matorin in the 56th minute of play. When Pedro Augusto Travassos fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paissandu's protests and gave Pedro Augusto Travassos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Paissandu getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Travassos hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Júlio Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pompeiro AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renatinho Vinhas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
