The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Hílton Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Wilton França's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ramiro Esteves was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Tuyuti FC's Percival Cearense got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilmar Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramiro Esteves made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Gilmar Lopes sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Tuyuti FC's zone, Gilmar Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramiro Esteves came out of the goal and Gilmar Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Tuyuti FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Eliézer Mangueira hit a great ball. Climerio's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gilmar Montenegro in the 50th minute.

The wind increased when Percival Cearense made the kick off in the second half. When Gilmar Lopes came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Climerio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilmar Lopes couldn't finish the play. Gilmar Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ramiro Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elias Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Climerio's Hílton Luz got a free kick in the 70th minute. The Climerio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvério Mota should have stopped the shot. Gilmar Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ramiro Esteves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilmar Lopes went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Gilmar Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Esteves having to interfere. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Climerio's goalkeeper Silvério Mota, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
