Edvaldo Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Posses's Elano Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Botelho in the 12th minute of play. Umberto Vides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Motta in the 15th minute of the match. Umberto Vides stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgard Motta's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Edvaldo Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Posses's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvaldo Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Umberto Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Silva in the 17th minute of play forced Taciateua's goalkeeper Umberto Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Edgard Motta notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Taciateua's Umberto Vides. Umberto Vides was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 25 minutes into the match, Posses's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão Botelho came free, but Elano Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aílton Faustino came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Elano Garcia could save by the left post. Elano Garcia went to the wrong direction when Arlindo Matos was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Pedrão Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano Garcia having to interfere. Elano Garcia was a little too slow when Pedrão Botelho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 1-1. Umberto Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvaldo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Aílton Faustino struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Elano Garcia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taciateua. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Edvaldo Silva made the kick off in the second half. If Edvaldo Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Mottas short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Umberto Vides to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Motta got free with Umberto Vides in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elano Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrão Botelho in the 65th minute of the match. Aílton Faustino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 69 played minutes Taciateua got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Meirelles. If Rodolfo Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Umberto Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvaldo Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrão Botelho struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Elano Garcia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taciateua. The Posses players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
