Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gerson Zilles kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Guariguari's Richard Barbosa got control of the ball when Dráusio de Souza tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Guadiana's zone, Thiago Vasconcelos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Matos came out of the goal and Thiago Vasconcelos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Guariguari's Gerson Zilles in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guadiana's goalie prevented a goal. Thiago Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Paulo Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Vasconcelos in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute Gerson Zilles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robinho Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Richard Barbosa had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Andrézinho Tavares's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 36 minutes, Dário Cardozo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guariguari and the Guadiana players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th match minute, Guariguari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Dráusio de Souza fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Thiago Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robinho Moreno to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Robinho Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Dário Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Guadiana's Dráusio de Souza in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With his leg Paulo Matos managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Guariguari's Thiago Vasconcelos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 70th minute, Thiago Vasconcelos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Robinho Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robinho Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Flávio Diniz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guariguari's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guadiana the free kick. Flávio Diniz hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. When Robinho Moreno came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Guadiana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robinho Moreno couldn't finish the play. The Guariguari supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guariguari would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
