Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Sandrinho Fonseca dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcelinho Prado, 1-0. Manoel Velloso's late challenge caught a Lombardia AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manoel Velloso helped the player get up and apologised. Manoel Velloso kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Tadeu Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gildo Bastos, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Serginho Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedé do Nascimento in the 15th minute of the match. Dedé do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Serginho Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lombardia AD's Sandrinho Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sandrinho Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Prado having to interfere. After 26 played minutes Piva got a freekick which was hit by Mazinho Soares. Luiz Fabiano do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serginho Perez having to interfere. If Orlando Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Fabiano do Valle to make the kick off. When Dedé do Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Piva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedé do Nascimento couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute Luiz Fabiano do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dedé do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandrinho Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Marcelinho Prado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lombardia AD. The supporters of Lombardia AD booed when Piva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felippe Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Augusto Lopes during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Sandrinho Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 82 played minutes Lombardia AD got a freekick which was hit by José Augusto Lopes. Dedé do Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serginho Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano do Valle in the 89th minute of play. With a little luck, Lombardia AD's Serginho Perez got control of the ball when Dedé do Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Piva eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
