In the 5th minute, Romário Cunha sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sapucaial SS's Abelardo da Fonseca didn't even have to move. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sapucaial SS! The referee gave Arequembaua a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Romário Cunha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sapucaial SS's Abelardo da Fonseca. 1-0. Luiz Fábio Zilles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Pernambucano having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto das Neves during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Sapucaial SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto das Neves to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noel de Andrade struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Abelardo da Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arequembaua. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Noel de Andrade took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Abelardo da Fonseca to make any attempt to save it. Arequembaua were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Sapucaial SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Romário Cunha took the corner. In the 35th minute, Arequembaua's Noel de Andrade dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. In the 39th minute, Tony Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sapucaial SS's Fausto das Neves got a free kick in the 40th minute. Noel de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Abelardo da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fábio Zilles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Natã Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Arequembaua's Jorge Rosa in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Abelardo da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Rosa in the 82nd minute of the match. After 83 minutes, Ulisses Nogueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sapucaial SS and the Arequembaua players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, Sapucaial SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. If Luiz Fábio Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natã Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Pernambucano having to interfere. Natã Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Benedito Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sapucaial SS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
